Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-08

postdoc.jp (operated by Japan Postdoc Job Center) respects your privacy. This page explains what data we collect, why, and your choices.

Data we collect

When you browse postdoc.jp, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and Google Analytics 4 may receive technical metadata such as your anonymized IP, user-agent, referrer, and pages viewed. Analytics is loaded only after you accept the consent banner. When you sign in via GitHub, the Cloudflare Workers auth service receives your GitHub user ID, login, display name, and avatar URL via the GitHub OAuth API. We do not store your GitHub email, repositories, or any private GitHub data.

Where data is stored

Authentication state is held in a short-lived JWT (HS256, 24-hour expiry) issued by our Cloudflare Worker and stored in your browser localStorage. The rating and audit data we publish on api.postdoc.jp is held on a Fly.io volume in the Tokyo (NRT) region.

Cookies & tracking

We do not place advertising cookies. Google Analytics is loaded only with your consent and uses a first-party cookie scoped to postdoc.jp. You can revoke consent at any time by clearing your browser storage for postdoc.jp.

Your rights

Under the Japanese Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) and applicable EU/UK data protection law, you may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data. Contact [email protected].

Updates

We may update this policy as the project matures. Material changes will be flagged at the top of this page and announced on the registry.
